COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES: Autonomous Systems Technician
The College of the Rockies [Cranbrook] has announced the launch of a new two-year Autonomous Systems Technician Diploma program in September 2020. The program will train students to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment related to autonomous heavy vehicles and the sensor networks used in surface mines in Alberta and British Columbia.

LANGARA COLLEGE: B.Sc in Bioinformatics
Langara College has announced the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics degree, the first-of-its kind degree from a college in British Columbia.The program builds on two existing Langara programs in the field: an Associate of Science Degree in Bioinformatics, and a Diploma in Bioinformatics. Beginning September 2020, the four-year program teaches students how to work with large biological data sets and develop skills to apply statistical tools for analysis.

CAMOSUN COLLEGE: Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Vancouver Island’s first Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program launches in May at Camosun College in Victoria. Diagnostic medical sonographers are health care professionals who take images of and assess unborn babies, organs, tissues, and blood flow inside the body, providing key diagnostic information to doctors about a patient’s medical condition. The next intake in 2021 doubles the number of students to 32 in the two-year program.
